Time4Writing Course Testimonials

Parents are saying:

“My 14 year old 8th grader is a few days from finishing his first Time4Writing course. He was diagnosed in 5th grade with both a language processing and vision disorder. We did private language remediation. He began homeschooling in 7th grade. We knew writing and language were still an issue. At the beginning in 2018 we tested him through Time4Writing. He tested into their most basic Middle School Mechanics. He has until March 7 to finish the 8 weeks, but he should be done early next week. Opinion: LOVE it. Middle School Mechanics is the basics. Punctuation, capitalization, grammar, sentence structure. There’s not much real writing. Which makes sense. How can you write a paragraph if you don’t have the basics? His teacher grades his material within 24 hours and provides feedback….and encouragement! She’s said things like “ wow you worked really hard. Harder than you had to….because you didn’t read the instructions! Try again!” The best part is he knew he struggled with writing, so he avoided it. His confidence is growing. Once he completes Middle School Mechanics we’ll sign up for the next level. Our plan is to move to public high school in the fall. I think he’ll be ready! Addendum: I also love that I get an email immediately when he submits an assignment and when he has graded feedback. He can’t fib that he did his work when he didn’t. I also sent an email to his teacher the first week and heard back from her more quickly than I heard from his public school teachers.” — Parent of a Middle School Mechanics student

“We live overseas so T4W is a real life-saver for us. No matter where we are, we have access to our daughter’s courses. We like that they are all self-paced; since we live in Asia, live online classes from the US are often difficult for us because of the big time difference. I also appreciate that fact that you don’t have fixed starting/ending dates for your courses–our 8 weeks start whenever we register. This is also an advantage for us because the school/break schedule here is different from America which can also make it hard for us to access online US-based courses that follow the US school/holiday schedule.

My husband and I are actually English teachers ourselves (ESL teachers here), and I used to teach basic English writing to ESL college students. I assumed I would have no problem teaching writing to our daughter–however, since writing isn’t her ‘love’ and she found it hard to accept my feedback, it became a really challenging endeavor (and as you all know, it takes lots of time to plan, evaluate, and grade writing assignments!). I feel that T4W courses have set both of us free, so to speak–I’m relieved of the ‘burden’ of being the writing teacher, and she has truly applied herself and learned so much in all of the courses. Sometimes, she even finds herself actually enjoying it! 🙂 I think it has been very good for her to learn how to interact with and respond to feedback from teachers other than me–a valuable life skill! One more thing–I have found that your customer service is excellent. Over the years, whenever there has been the rare problem or glitch, you guys always respond quickly and effectively. I often recommend you to my home-schooling friends, and I know of at least one family that has been taking your courses this year as a result. I just wish you had a few more high school courses!” — Parent of a High School Paragraphs student

“I just wanted to let you know that I loved all the feedback that you gave Daniel during this course! The course was a great fit for Daniel. I love the course and have recommended your website and programs to other parents. I feel the strong points of your program are the very short, targeted lessons, the specific feedback given within 24 hours, and the opportunity to extend the eight-week timeframe if needed. We are planning to start Middle School Essay Writing on Monday.” — Parent of a Middle School Paragraphs student

“Charles gained the confidence that he CAN write, and write well. The teacher was very encouraging, but didn’t let him off the hook when he thought he couldn’t do the assignment. Even though it was challenging for him, he made it through the class and got A’s and B’s on all of his assignments.” — Parent of a High School Essay student

“My son’s favorite part of the class was the personal feedback. His class teacher, Jennifer, left personal feedback on each and every one of his lessons. He LOVED having someone besides Mom give him input on his work.” — Parent of a Middle School Basic Mechanics student

“Her father and I are quite proud of our daughter’s progress. Time4Writing has been a godsend. We’ll definitely be enrolling in more classes.” — Parent of a Middle School Essay student
“I picked Time4Writing after reading the commentaries and reviews online.  Our granddaughter took the placement test and was placed in the High School Mechanics course.  She worked 100% independently of me, doing her assignments, submitting them and re-submitting when corrections needed.  The teacher, Mrs, Derr, was consistently available to either of us for questions and or guidance.” — Grandparent of a High School Writing Mechanics student

“Just wanted to let you know that my son is happily writing for the first time ever. He really enjoys the feedback and is finally believing that he is a good writer. Thanks to you and Time4Writing for unlocking his potential.” — Parent of an Elementary Paragraph Writing student

“As a homeschooling mom I am so relieved to find a course that allows my child access to objective feedback from a writing instructor.” — Parent of an Elementary Paragraph Writing student

“We were really blown away at how much she has learned. I cannot say enough about Time4writing and have shared the info with my COOP as well as with other friends. This was EXACTLY what we/she needed! We will be using this program again in the Fall for sure. Thank you.” — Parent of an Middle School Essay Writing student

“We are using and LOVING Time4Writing! My son’s teacher does such a good job balancing correction with praise and encouragement. He is learning and growing more than ever! I plan to use this with ALL of my children as we go along.” — Parent of a Middle School Essay student

“I just wanted to touch base with you regarding Jadyn. She has mentioned to me a couple times in the 2 weeks she has started this course how much she enjoys it. She has always struggled in English but she said last night she thinks this is the best English class she has ever taken and how much she feels like you have really helped her to understand some English concepts better. (IN JUST 2 WEEKS! ) This is our third year homeschooling. She went to public school from K-6th, it seemed like nobody ever took time to explain English to her even when we asked for help with it. I am hopeful for the rest of this and the other Time 4 Writing courses.” — Parent of a High School Writing Mechanics student

“As an American family living in Japan, finding the right English reading, writing and grammar sources for our children can be a real challenge. Time4Writing has been such a provision for us. We want our children to be proficient in both academic English and academic Japanese while we are still in Japan. Time4Writing allows us to do this, without putting the entire burden of homeschooling on us as parents. I have recommended your online program to many friends who face the same challenges as we do. Thank you for providing an affordable and high-quality online program for our children.” — Parent of a Elementary Sentence Writing student

“My daughter’s writing is above average for her age. Because of this, her teachers at school always give her praise, but no real solid feedback on how to improve her writing. With Time4Writing, she got both.” — Parent of an Advanced Middle School Essay student

“I just wanted to let you know that this course is really helping Lexie a lot. She loves doing it and really doesn’t complain at all. I think it is building her self confidence in writing. I have seen an improvement in her writing so far and it has only been a  little over 2 weeks. Lexie will continue to do this program all the way through high school!” — Parent of an Elementary Paragraph Writing student

“I gained a lot from the Time4writing course. I can now write narrative and expository essays as well as dialogue with confidence. I have learned how to create a paragraph that features a clear topic sentence, supporting details, dialogue, and a vivid closing sentence. With the help of Ms. Leslie, my incredible teacher, I have brought my writing to an entirely new level. I am glad to have participated in the Time4Writing course.” — Student taking the Middle School Essay course

“I believe that this course has improved my essay writing skills. I can now effectively organize my thoughts and insert dialogue into any type of essay. I have also acquired the ability to write an essay faster. The teacher is great, and every time I make a mistake, she explains what I did wrong. I recommend this course to anyone who wants to become a better writer.” — Student taking the Middle School Essay course

“I am glad I took this writing course. It has helped me to become a better writer in many ways.” — Student taking the Middle School Mechanics course

“I am sad that my course has come to an end. I especially enjoyed getting feedback from my teacher. Also, I liked getting to make corrections and then resubmitting my essays. Finally, I liked how each topic worked on different paragraphs when writing the expository essay. I loved the High School Essay Writing course.” — Student taking the High School Essay course

“I have really enjoyed this class because it has improved my writing. I found some of the work challenging, but I am always up for a good challenge. This past week I wanted to turn off my computer when I began to struggle. Thank you for your being patient and helping me. Your teaching has been a very big help!” — Student taking the High School Essay course

“I feel that I have learned quite a lot. I already knew some of it like the topic and closing sentences, but I didn’t know about narrative and expository paragraphs. I never really knew how many details to use though. I really think that you have helped me out an enormous amount. Thank you!” — Student taking the Middle School Essay course
